Sri Lembayung Nasi Padang
There are lots of positive comments from Sri Lembayung, a new authentic Padang Food Restaurant in town and it is located at Kiulap (Behind HSBC Kiulap and this place was also formerly known as Seafood Paradise). The official opening was last Saturday and it was officiated by Datin Hjh Maimoonah Hj Omar, spouse of the Minister of Home Affairs.
According to Farah Abdullah, there are more than 40 different dishes to choose from and of course, there is also a choice to be spicy if you want. They will have a karaoke section upstairs which is still not opened yet.
The last day of promotion is 27th October, Thursday and the current promotion is 50% of the current menu. For bookings, you can 223 - 1788.

How to make Kembayau Soup
Two chefs of Royal Brunei Catering demonstrated their culinary skills in the "Kenali Makanan Kitani (KNK) cooking class held last 5th October at Seasons Restaurant. Chef Ak Zaidi Pg Ahmad presended the "Sup Kembayau" while Chef Maswadi Jahari prepared the "Pucuk Ubi Ikan Masin".
RBC invited Media Permata and RA crew to witness the special cooking class. It's a joint effort with Brunei Tourism and Royal Brunei Catering, the KNK is in Seasons Restaurant which ends this Monday, 10th September.

Served in small portions and dont forget to put boiled prawn
Ingredients for Kembayau Soup
200 gm - Kembayau puree
20 gm - Shallot chopped
15 gm - Garlic chopped
1 gm - Thyme dried herbs
20 gm - Onion chopped
100 gm - Peeled Potato diced
100 gm - Peeled Sweet potatos
600 ml - Chicken Stock
50 gm - Margarine unsalted
5 gm - Black pepper powder
60 gm - President Cream
Use salt and sugar to alter taste
To thicken, use Roux
Method of preparation
1) Heat margarine in a stockpot, saute next ingredients for 2-3 minutes without browning
2) Add chicken stock, bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10 - 15 minutes
3) Pour soup into a blender and puree for 2-3 minutes at high speed
4) Remove the soup from the blender and reheat to simmer point
5) Thicken the soup with a little bit of roux
6) Divide into portion, put whipped cream on top and garnish with boiled prawn
7) Serve with garlic croutons
And now, you have your "Kembayau Soup".. Wooohhooo!!!!

Ingredients for "Pucuk Ubi Kayu Masak Lemak Ikan Masin"
95 gm - Salted fish
600 ml - Water tub
1 piece - Asam aur-aur
300 gm - Young cassave leaf springs (pucuk ubi kayu)
375 ml - Santan (thick coconut milk)
50 ml - Cooking oil
Ingreidents for pounded (bumbu)
4 - red chillies
5 - shallots
4 - cloves garlic
10 gm - belacan
Method of preparation
1) Pound or grind the ingredients for the bumbu and make it into a paste
2) Heat in a pot, add the oil and fry the bumbu
3) Then add the asam
4) Add the pucuk ubi and let it simmer covered for 25 minutes until the pucuk ubi are nearly cooked
5) Add Santan and the seasoning with salt, pepper powder and chicken stock seasoning
6) Let it simmer slowly until the santan starts to thicken and the pucuk ubi is cooked.
Now you have your "Pucuk Ubi Kayu Masak Lemak Ikan Masin" ready to be served.

Healthier options are also available such as Chicken Quesadilla – grilled seasoned chicken breast, cheddar cheese layered between flour tortilla guacamole, or a hearty meal go for the pan smeared salmon fillet topped with mango salsa and balsamic dressing or meet lovers can dig in on the succulent beef tenderloin “minute” steaks. And then again, you may also try the traditional club sandwich that never to be missed.
For those who prefer Asian food, Bunker Bistro offers selections of traditional cha rkway teow, hainanese chicken rice, Thai green chicken curry or Nyonya laksa. For our adorable little ones, Bistro has mini beef burger served with Bunker French fries, Spaghettini Bolognese topped with parmesan cheese as well as chicken nuggets.
To end the meal, indulge in the selection of sweet endings. For ice cream lovers, must try the chocolate marble layered with passion fruit sauce together with ‘after eight’ ice cream or indulge in the apple panna cotta with shredded apple and crumbled meringue and more other tasty desserts.
